Legal documentation required for your wedding in Kefalonia

Wedding documents needed for your Civil wedding.

  • Photocopy of birth certificate registration translated and ratified from the Greek Embassy in Great Britain.
  • Photocopies of passports
  • Certificate from the Registrar that there no obstacles for this marriage translated and ratified from the Greek Embassy in Great Britain.
  • For divorces or widowers, the court or a death certificate registration translated and ratified from the Greek Embassy in Britain for each.
  • NAME CHANGE DEED (Must be signed and stamped by a solicitor) - If the bride and groom have changed their names,  a name change deed will need to be taken to Kefalonia.  These will need to be translated and legalized in the UK prior to departure.
  • ADOPTION CERTIFICATE - If the bride or groom is adopted, an adoption certificate must be taken to Kefalonia.  These will need to be translated and legalized in the UK prior to departure.
